About Jagoron Program

Jagoron (previously known as Rural Microcredit) is a core credit instrument of PKSF, implemented by Unnayan Prochesta to initiate household-based enterprise development in Bangladesh. Launched in October 1990, the program encourages rural microcredit borrowers to undertake family-based income-generating activities. In 1999, the Urban Microcredit (UMC) program was integrated into Jagoron to extend financial assistance to landless squatters and slum dwellers in urban areas.
